If you ever thought that you are ‘too old’ for boudoir, please think again! You know how they say good wine gets better with age… I believe the same is true for women.
This beautiful lady with the most radiant smile is Katinka, who is also a photographer, working in the Netherlands. We met in Barcelona last autumn for a personal project, and of course, what do photographers do for fun? We photographed each other.
Katinka was planning her wedding in the next couple of weeks, so she asked me if by chance I would be up to creating some tasteful boudoir images for her future husband (and I have a feeling she might have been thinking about it for some time, because she happened to have her grandmother’s incredible vintage lace shawl with her…)
She didn’t have to ask me twice, I said YES without thinking about it much and I am so happy I was able to capture these beautiful photographs.

It is a misconception that boudoir photography is for the young and beautiful with the perfect bodies. Of course, this is what you see in the magazines, but please remember how cruel the media is and how skewed the image they project to us.
Please don’t let your age (or, for that matter, your height, your weight… or any other excuses we are so good at coming up with) stop you. You might be more mature, you might be over forty, fifty or hell, even sixty!… but please, come as you are.
My style of boudoir photography is more about celebrating your beauty, femininity and sensuality, rather than showing off the perfect curves or being overly sexy.
Your photos will be classy, elegant and beautiful – because they are showing off just how beautiful YOU are. Fifty and fabulous. Inside and out.
