No need. You are perfect NOW.

As you know I am a portrait photographer.
I see your beauty, and I want to help you see it for yourself.

In my mission to empower women, I invite you to join me in a challenge to post one selfie of yourself each week. It doesn’t have to be public (I’ll be sharing mine and hosting this project in my secret facebook group), but not only post it, but also say something nice about yourself. Something that you like when you look at that picture.

The selfies above were all taken in 2016. I didn’t get to take one every week, but I still feel I got a huge value out of it. They are far from perfect, I’m not wearing make-up in most of them and in some I look like I could do with some sleep… but still. This is who I am. Flaws and all. And I accepted it, and slowly learn to love it too.

“This is not about vanity. It is about self-love and stopping the self-hate. The best way to love something is to stop hating it. Stop resisting it. You are perfect NOW.”

Your selfie doesn’t have to be taken when you are feeling your most beautiful. You don’t have to have your makeup and hair done. You don’t have to be smiling. Find a window, stand facing it, and take a selfie. Tell yourself three nice things that you like about the picture. You will notice that as the weeks go by, your confidence will increase.

The group is a safe place to be authentic, to be vulnerable. There is no judgement, no shaming, no trash talking. (And anyone who violates that will be removed.)

My hope is that over the course of the year, you will fall in love or back in love with yourself. That you will get used to saying loving things to yourself, instead of criticising yourself. That you will see the beautiful being in the mirror that the rest of the world sees when they look at you.

I hope you’ll join me on this journey.
